"FLAVORS OF LAKE COMO" COOKING CLASS
TO BE PRESENTED BY LOCANDA DEL LAGO
AT SUR LA TABLE IN SANTA MONICA

 
"Flavors of the Lake" a cooking class spotlighting the cuisine of Northern Italy's Lake Como area, will be presented by Davide Vedovelli, the new executive chef at Locanda del Lago, and West Hooker, co-owner, at Sur La Table in Santa Monica on Thursday, September 9, 2004, 6:30 p.m.

Vedovelli and Hooker, both of whom were born in Milan and who have lived and worked in Bellagio on Lake Como, will demonstrate a three-course meal, paired with wines, of signature dishes from the Lake Como area.  Vedovelli comes to Lago directly from Bellagio where he was executive chef at the renowned Trattoria San Giacomo.

The dishes to be demonstrated at the Sur La Table class are FILETTI DI TROTA E SALMERINO MARINATI CON TRUCCIOLI DI CAROTE  ("Lake Ceviche" of rainbow trout and pink trout marinated in lemon and herbs, topped with a curly carrot julienne) paired with Franciacorta Bianco, Bellavista, '01 (100% Chardonnay); TAGLIOLINI AL PESCE DI LAGO (housemade tagliolini tossed with pink trout and escarole in a thyme-infused white wine sauce) paired with Lugana, Ca` dei Frati, '01; and PETTO D'ANATRA AL SALE CON INSALATINA DELL’ORTO (duck breast encrusted in rock sea salt, baked, and served with Bellagio garden salad) paired with Inferno, Nino Negri, '99.
